The 15m high Masimbula Ella Fall bears the name of the village where it is situated. It springs from where the island’s highest number of falls is situated. Above this fall, many waterfalls are found all the way up to the beginning of the river. The waterfall is fed by the Rakwana River, which begins from Sinharaja Forest. The fall nexus to Rakwana River. Although there is no forest located above the fall, it gets an abundance of water from the rain-fed upper reach of the river. The deep pool located at its base has claimed many lives, villagers revealed. The villagers are mostly paddy cultivators. Apart from them, there are other sectors viz. traders in the village. The village is exposed to the vicissitudes of the Neoteric era.

This fall is in Ratnapura Godakawela PS in Masibmbula village. The fall could be reached by travelling for about 3km along the Rakwana Road, situated in close proximity to Gokadawala Kularatne School.
