The 12m-high Magan Falls flows only during the wet season. It forms part of the Magan Oya (river) and serves the Mahawelli River, via the Kurundu River. Previously, it was known as the Yakkuwadi Ella Falls.
The fall is situated in the Nuwara Eliya District. Take the road that leads from Kandy to Wathumulla, where the Provincial Transport Board Depot is located, about 1km from Manelgama village. At the depot, turn right and trek down a slope to the fall.
