Usgala Swarnabimbarama Rajamaha Viharaya is situated in the Kobeigane provincial secretary division in the Kurunegala District. This temple is attributed to the king Kirthi Sri Rajasinhe (1747 – 1781) of the Kandyan Kingdom.

A two-storied image house built by the Kirthi Sri Rajasinhe (1747 – 1781) still exists today at this temple. The top of the walls on the upper floor of the building is decorated with clay lion figures, Bahirawa figures and Serpent figures. The Department of Archaeology has recently renovated the roof of the building but the clay figures as seen above is said to be deteriorating.

The Tampita Image House (Image house built on stone piles) Thjeva Mandapaya and the wall belonging to the Swarnabimbarama Purana Vihara premises, situated in the No. 376, Kanoyaya Kahatavilagedera Grama Niladhari Division in the Panduwasnuwara East Divisional Secretary’s Division, Kurunegala District was declared as a protected archaeological monument by the gazette issued on July 24th,2009.
