Sri Sugatharama Purana Viharaya lies in the village of Bulupitya in Uhumiya (Uhumeeya) on the Narammala – Kurunegala road.

The image house is typical of the temples built during the Kandyan era but the murals and the statues inside have been destroyed over time. It was completely restored by the Department of Archaeology in 2017.  This Image House has been a Tampita Viharaya initially but the stone pillars have been filled and covered at a later date.

The statues of deity Vishnu and Buddhas have been completely rebuilt in the Kandyan style. Rotten wood panels have been replaced and the murals have been restored to the original statues.
