This site lies surrounding small hillock in the area known as Bulathwaththayaya in the remote village of Kahatagasyaya in Uhana. The ruins including a rock inscription, and a dagoba mound was declared as a protected archaeological site by the Government with the Gazette issued on 10th October 2014, and describes the location as follows ;
“Small rock with rock inscription and hillock of Dagoba at the place called Bulathwaththayaya in Kahatagasyaya village situated in Grama Niladhari Division No. W/100/ A/180, kahatagasyaya in the Divisional Secretary’s Division Uhana in Ampara District in Eastern Province. (latitude 07º 19′ 05” N and longitude 081º 34′ 08”E).“
GPS location is marked based on the above description. But this location doesn’t seems right, its recommended to get directions to the Bulathwaththayaya ruins from a villager in Kahatagasyaya.
