The 30m high Malmora Falls’s name comes from Toddy. That is related to the word ‘Malmuraya’, which is in common usage amongst toddy tapers. In the surroundings of the fall, a naturalized tree named ‘Kitul’ (Caryota Urens) grows. The tree blooms between periods of 8-10 years. Its flower is tapped 3-4 times a day for produce.

The fall is in Lankagama village, Galle District, Hiniduma Electorate. To find the fall, trek upward for 2km from Lankagama Kekuma Falls.

The one at the bottom is the Lankagama Kekuna Falls, above it lies Pathan Oya Ella and going further up, you will come across the Malmora Ella. Being a evergreen forest, leaches will be part of the life on the track.
