The road to Nuwara Eliya from Gampola is dotted with several waterfalls especially between Pusselawa and Ramboda. Some of the waterfalls have names, some don’t and some waterfalls are seasonal.

The people living around these areas also add to the confusion by calling the same waterfall different names.

According to LCWF ; “Between Pusselawa and Ramboda there are several waterfalls, all of which are less than 30m in height. Helboda Ella Falls, however, is 60m high but only flows when it rains. It is located near the 28th and 29th mileposts at the Pusselawa Halboda Estate.”

Dr Kautzsch states that the Helboda Waterfalls as 5 meters in height. He was probably referring to another waterfall in the area. With so many cascades, it’s difficult to identify Dr Kautzsch’s Helboda Falls.

This Helboda Ella waterfall is sometimes mistakenly identified as the Delta Falls by some. However the people around this area identify this as the Helboda Ella Falls and are not aware of a Delta Falls anywhere in the vicinity.
