The Thalagune Ella (Kalugala Hulan Ella) Waterfall is a large waterfall which is at least 80 meters in height and lies between the Ududumbara and Kalugala. The waterfall can be viewed from the main road after travelling about 3.5 km on the Uda Dumbara – Kalugala Road over lush paddy fields. There is another similarly large waterfall called Gedaramada Ella about 500 meters above this waterfall which is not visible to the road. This is also called Ellegala Ella by the locals and Google Maps referred to it as Thalagune Ella II.

This should not be mistaken for another waterfall called Hulan Ella which lies about 6 kilometers along the river above the popular Kalthota Doowili Ella.

This waterfall is not listed in the LCWF database.
