Kivulegama Jayanthi Wewa Hot Spring is a single hot well located on privately owned land with lukewarm water. The spring is located along the Pallan Oya Road near Jayanthi Wewa in Ampara District. This well is not known even in the area of Pallam Oya since when inquired by us about this spring, number of people living around this area had no idea of its existence in the neighbourhood.

To reach the well, take the Pallanoya Road which leads to Inginiyagala from the Wadinagala Junction on Siyambalanduwa – Ampara road. Travel along this road approximately 1.9 km to the Pallanoya Bridge. Travel 850 meters passing the bridge to reach the Bund road to the left. Traveling about 100 meters on this concrete lane, the road splits into 3 segments ( see photo).

The first lane to the left leads to a house. The second lane to the left is the actual continuation of the Bund road which also leads to the Jayanthi Wewa Bund. A third gravel road goes on straight which looks like the continuation of the bund road which is not. There is a small pond (?) lying between the 1st and 2nd roads to the left.

Take the send lane to the left ( the actual bund road ) and walk about 80 meters to the end of the pond and you will find the hot water well in a forest patch in the back yard of the house which the 1st lane leads to.

The well lies between the pond and a paddy field. The owners have channelled the water of this well to the pond as well as the paddy fields by way of pipes connected to the well.
