Malgamandeniya is a small agricultural village in Akurana, Matale District. The wooden Ambalama at Malgamandeniya lies on the edge of a paddy field interior to the main road. The structure stands on 4 huge raised wooden beams. The roof is held by another four pillars connected to the floor beams.
It seems that the Ambalama had been restored at some point in the recent past. The floor beams are today held on a cement floor and the flat tiles of the Kandyan era have been replaced by the semi-cylindrical clay tiles.
To reach Malgamandeniya you need to take the by road to Konakagala from Kandy Matale road and take the Malgamandeniya road from Galekade junction. On this junction lies another Ambalama of Kandyen Era, the Konakagala Ambalama.
