Palugamuwa Sri Pushparama Purana Devapita Viharaya is a ancient Buddhist temple with an ancient Tampita Viharaya belonging to the Kandyan era. The temple lies between Dummalasuriya and Udubaddawa on the Madampe – Kuliyapitiya road, about 11 km from Madampe and 13 km from Kuliyapitiya. To reach the temple from Madampe, travel 10 km Madampe – Kuliyapitiya road to find the access road to the Temple. This road lies 2.2 km passing the Dummalasuriya Police station. The access road is marked by a small board on the left.

A Tampita Viharaya is a structure built on a wooden platform which rests on number of stone stumps usually 3-4 feet tall. The roof is held by a structure built of timber and the walls are generally made of wattle and daub. Walls inside the chamber is more or less always covered in paintings drawn mainly in Kandyan style.
