Ettampitiya Ambalama is an ancient wayside rest in the hilly town of Ettampitiya 15 kilometers away from Badulla and 17 km away from Bandarawela. The ambalama sits on the Welimada-Badulla road at the junction at the turn-off to the Ketawala road.
The Ettampitiya Ambalama is a small brick and mortar building tiled with semi-cylindrical clay tiles (Sinhala ulu). Three sides of the building are fully covered and the front by a half wall. Whether these features were in the original building or if they have been added in later renovations is unknown. Today this Ambalama is used as a bus shelter.
