The location where ancient sediments of pottery with brick layering in a paddy field bordering Kuda Oya in Sandamadula has been declared as a protected archaeological site by the Gazette issued on 10th October 2014, and describes the location of as follows ;
“231. Place with the brick laying and sediments of pottery in the paddy land of Lot No. 172, 173, 174 adjoins Kuda Oya belonging to Uththalapura village situated in Grama Niladhari Division No. 142/F, Sandamadulla in the Divisional Secretary’s Division Dehiaththakandiya in Ampara District in Eastern Province. (Latitude 07º 36’04.7” N and longitude 081º 01′ 32.4” E).”
