A stream flows from the Nanu Oya (river), beginning at the 220m-high Uda Radella and Kikiliyamana mountains, via Kotmale Reservoir to the Mahaweli River. The Glassaugh fall, 20m in height, is created near the railway crossing at Nanu Oya station.

Nanu Oya station is on the left-hand side of the highway from Avissawella, through Hatton to Nuwara Eliya, in the Nuwara Eliya District, 6km from Nuwara Eliya.

Glassaugh Waterfall consists of 3 major segments. The second segment of the waterfall can be clearly seen from the 3rd railroad bridge between Nanu Oya and Radella. From the Nanu Oya rail station, travelling 750 meters towards Radella will bring you to the second bridge which the Nanu Oya fall will be flowing below. Traveling a further 140 meters will bring you to the 3rd rail bridge which will give a clear view of the 2nd segment and the 1st segment can be seen above this.

Taking the road towards the Glassaugh Tea Factory and passing it you will come across the view of the lower part of Nanuoya Falls and passing it, the lower segment of Glassaugh Falls.
