Kirigala Ambalama is a brick and mortar wayside rest but built similar to a small house lying on the Meepe – Ingiriya Road inside the Sagara Palansuriya Maha Vidyalaya premises.

This Ambalama has been built in 2500 BE (1957 CE) in commemoration of the 2500 Buddha Jayanthi which fell in 1957 and has been named “Dhamma Vijaya Rest Hall“.

This Ambalama has been used as a class room of the school and later as a canteen of the school. Currently it is lying neglected and deserted. The building is currently in dilapidated state with a broken roof and cracked walls. Dinamina News Paper carried several appeals to restore this Ambalama in 2010 and 2011 but the Ambalama is still in the same state.
