Pathan Oya Ella Falls is one of the many waterfalls found the the Sinharaja Reserve. This 6m fall, situated close to Lankagama is located 4 km from the Sinharaja ticketing counter.

The waterfall is also called the Upper Aranuwa Falls since the fall is created by a drop on Aranuwa Dola which connects to Gin Ganga a little further down. 1.5 km further down this stream goes on to create another waterfall called Lankagama Kekuna Falls (Lower Aranuwa Falls)

The waterfall can be accessed through any of the entry points in Sinharaja Rain Forest.

If you are using the Deniyaya Route (Mederipitiya route), it’s about 1.5km to the edge of the forest from the vehicle park and another 3.5 km into this waterfall. Another waterfall Lankagama Kekuna Falls (Lower Aranuwa Falls) lies on the same waterway about 1.5 km before the Pathan Oya Falls.

Alternate Names : Pathan Oya Ella, Pathanoya Ella, Patan Oya Ella, Patanoya Ella, Pathan Oya Falls, Pathanoya Falls, Patan Oya Falls, Patanoya Falls, Upper Aranuwa Falls
