St. Catherine’s Seat is a scenic viewpoint located in the upper division of the Nayabedda Tea Estate in Haputale, Sri Lanka. It is one of the popular tourist destinations in the Uva Basin and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including Bandarawela and Diyatalawa.
The viewpoint is located at an altitude of over 2,000 meters, and on a clear day, visitors can see for miles in every direction. The views from St. Catherine’s Seat are particularly stunning at sunrise and sunset when the clouds and mountains are often bathed in a golden glow.
In addition to the scenic views, St. Catherine’s Seat is also a popular spot for hiking and birdwatching. The trail to the viewpoint is relatively easy, and there are a variety of bird species that can be seen in the area.
