The Administration Report of the Archaeological Commissioner for the year 1979 contains a description of a partly destroyed stupa along with ruins of another building in the Nochchimoddai area close to the Parangi Aru.

Nochchimottai
About 5½ miles along the Vavuniya-Jaffna road, after passing the Nochchimottai Sub Post Office there is a gravel road to the right-hand side. On going along this road there is seen the high voltage electric cable line overhead. To the south of this line there is the stream known as the Parangi Aru. About 200 yds to the north of the stream there is the land being cultivated by the Manager of the People’s Bank, Vavuniya. At the north end of this land, by the side of a paddy field, there are the ruins of a dagoba. About ¾ ths of the dagoba have been damaged in the interests of enlarging the paddy field. The moulded bricks and surface bricks of the dagoba are heaped at one point. At this spot there is an image statue of Ganesha that is evidently being worshipped. There are no signs of the relic chamber of the dagoba having been opened by treasure seekers, but it could have been damaged due to the cutting of the side of the dagoba mound. The height of the dagoba is, at present, 15ft. Stone slabs and pillars of buildings are half hidden in the jungle cover. It is proposed to safeguard, even at this late stage, the ancient remains at this site.

No information if these ruins have been totally destroyed or conserved is known. The directions given above are quite detailed and the marker below is based on the directions above.
