Kunchikulama Hanging Bridge, located near the Madu Church turn-off, spans 100 meters across the Malwathu Oya. Known locally as a “Sangili Palama,” this historic suspension bridge offers a thrilling experience. Though partially rotted and replaced by a modern bridge nearby, it remains a picturesque site for adventurous explorers.
Lying very close to the Tiruketeeswaram Kovil , builder of Mathota ancient temple is not known. Large number of granite pillars, granite steps, varius items carved out of rock and few torsos of Buddha ( also carved out of granite) is all what remains today of its glorious past.

Arippu Fort is a small two bastion fort built by the Portuguese just before the causeway at Arippu. This fort was handed over to the Dutch in 1658 after the fall of Mannar. This fort again changed hands to the British.
