During recent research conducted in the Nawagamuwa Pattini Devalaya, remains of several buildings of the Kotte period and some buildings of the 19th century have been identified.
Caves at Korathota, a little known village in the Kaduwela Divisional Secretariat boasts of cave inscriptions dating back 2000 years and are seen at the Korathota Raja Maha Viharaya, located on the road to Homagama, off the old Colombo – Ratnapura road.

The Colombo harbour south breakwater lighthouse lighthouse was commissioned in 2013 with the opening of the south breakwater of the latest international terminal of the Colombo Port.
The Colombo Harbor Breakwater Northeast Lighthouse was commissioned in 1907 and is currently active. It has a focal plane of 13 m (43 ft) and has a continuous red light. This is a 10 m (33 ft) round concrete tower with lantern and gallery.

It has a focal plane of 13 m (43 ft) and flash green every 3 s. This is a 12 m (36 ft) round stone tower with lantern and gallery, painted in white.
The Colombo Harbor Southwest Breakwater Lighthouse lies at the end of the Southwestern Breakwater of the Colombo Harbour. This breakwater was completed in 1885 at cost of £705,000 using 300 convicts to load / unload rocks from a query at Mahara.
Colombo Harbor Pilot Station Lighthouse is one of the six lighthouses in the Colombo Harbour and was completed along with the breakwater in 1885.
The Colombo Harbor Breakwater South End Lighthouse is one of the six lighthouses in the Colombo Harbour and was built in 1905. This is a 12 m (36 ft) round stone tower with a lantern and gallery, painted white. This is an active lighthouse with a focal plane of 13 m (43 ft).
The Colombo Old Lighthouse, now functioning solely as a clock tower, stands as a historic monument at the junction of Chatham Street and Janadhipathi Mawatha (formerly Queens Road) in Colombo Fort. Although its lighthouse function is no longer operational, the tower continues to keep time even today.

Situated on a high ground off Kirulapone, the Balapokuna temple gets its name because of the natural pond which lies within its premises. Once called the “Bata Pokuna”, the name was derived from the Sinhala word “Bata” meaning soldiers or sentries.
Very little exists of the Kotte Ramparts. A small section of the ramparts can be seen on the Rampart Road, Kotte. To access this you need to turn right in to the Rampart Road near the Kotte Museum from Kotte Road.
As the history of the Kotte Kingdom goes, there were three such secret tunnels. However, only one has been identified and can still be seen today. This is located in the vicinity of the Ananda Sasthrayala School.
Among the few remaining structures built using laterite during the Kotte Kingdom, one is located in Baddegana, named Vehera Kanda ruins. The place is about 4km from Pitakotte Junction, and can be reached traveling through a labyrinth of by roads.
