Hidden between Rankoth Vehera and Menik Vehera, Kasuprad Parivena is a small monastery which is not visited by any pilgrim.
This monastery is presumed to be the Kaduprad Parivena built by king Kassapa V (aka Abhaya Salamevan) who reigned from the Anuradhapura kingdom between 914-923 CE. This is supported by the occurrence of the name Kasapurad Parivena in inscription dated to the 10th Century discovered near this site.
Moreover its architectural design suggests that it belongs to the pancavasa type which was prevalent at that time period. Ruins of various buildings located around the central terrace indicate that a large number of monks had been residing here.
The central building is built on a elevated platform with a small Stupa, a Bo tree shrine and a image house among number of other buildings.
