The clock tower found in the centre of Kurunegala town was built as a memorial for the fallen heroes from Northwestern Province in the First World War in 1922. Eleven names are listed on the Kurunegala Clock Tower who lost their lives during World War I and three of the names are Ceylonese.

The War Memorial at Nuwara Eliya stands inside Victoria Park near the roundabout where Udupussallawa Road, Kandy Road and Badulla Road meet near the Grand Hotel. This Cenotaph is made of large granite blocks and was designed by Mr. R.A. Powell, the late Provincial Engineer of the district, and the actual erection was carried out by the Public Works Department, Nuwara Eliya. The Brass plaque was done by Messrs. Hoare & Company in England.

In Matale, there is a granite obelisk similar to the World War I obelisk memorials in Galle and Avissawella. However, there is no inscription found on this memorial. The brass place which was fixed to this memorial was removed by vandals long ago. Some contend that this memorial is dedicated to Gogalegoda Banda, the leader of the 1848 Matale Rebellion, who was executed by the British.

Kamburupitiya Ambalama (කඹුරුපිටිය අම්බලම)

Kamburupitiya Ambalama is one such Ambalama built in 1909. This is a comparatively large Ambalama built with Brick and mortar, standing in the centre of the Kamburupitya town. The Ambalama is fully covered. The front is built with a short wall and square and cylindrical pillars the empty space is covered with latticework structures for ventilation. The entrance is on the side.
