This little-known Diyabetma Ella Fall (5m in height) in the middle of the jungle is rarely visited due to the difficult terrain. The water comes from the Walawe River, which springs from the Samanala mountain range and incorporates the Belihul River at Demodara. A dam built at Demodara has reduced the volume of the fall and it now only flows with gusto when the sluice gates are open. The water hits the rock with huge crevasses up to 6m deep at the bottom before flowing onto the Diyabetma River.

The surrounding jungle is home to a variety of plants and wildlife, including vipers. Local villagers believe the fall was the creation of the deity Kataragama, who is still said to be present here. Take the Edandewela footpath (8km east of Koslanda, Badulla District) across Kuda Oya to Aluthwela. Continue for another 3.5km to Wekada village to find the fall. As it is an arduous trek through an elephant-infested jungle, it is imperative to hire the services of a guide.

The marker indicates an approximate location of the fall close the Diyabetma, Alutwela.
