The Administration Report of the Archaeological Commissioner for the year 1979 contains a description of a cluster of stone pillars belinging to an ancient building in Paranaddakal;

Paranattamkulam
On the Vavuniya-Jaffna road, about ½ mile beyond the Nochchimottai Sub Post Office, on turning to the left-hand side and crossing the railway line and travelling about 2 miles along the gravel road one comes to the Government Tamil School in the village of Paranattan Kallu. In front of the school and about 50 yds away there is a cadjan roofed building with stone pillars of the ancient period, the height of a pillar being 7ft 3in and 11 in on each side. The stones belonging to two ancient door jambs have been interchanged and used in the doorway of the present building. There are other stones belonging to an ancient image house which have been broken and kept at the site. This whole area had been used as an enclosure for cattle. The steps of an old entrance to a building have been removed and placed at one spot and on it there are placed the images of two Hindu deities. It appears that these stones belong to the Buddhist image house at the site of Kadikulam mentioned above and that they have been brought to this site and used in an effort to build a religious edifice for another faith.

No information whether these ruins have been totally destroyed or conserved is known. The directions given above are quite detailed and it seems that there is a quite a large kovil has been built in 2015. Most probably the above Buddhist ruins are already buried with the new Kovil. The marker below is based on the directions above.
