These ruins lie close to the Rajagala ruins at Ampara. Believed to be part of the massive Monastic Complex of Rajagala which was called Girikumbila Tissa Pabbata Viharaya in the ancient past, these ruins now stand on the other side of the Ampara – Mahaoya road about 25 km from Ampara town on the Rajagalathanne area.
