Siyambaladamana Megalitic Burial Grounds

Siyambaladamana Megalithic Burial Site is located in Siyambaladamana village in No. 598 Madawala Grama Sevaka division of Palugaswewa Regional Secretariat Division in Anuradhapura District of North Central Province.

Travel from Anuradhapura to Maradankadawala for 36 km and from Maradankadawala town to Habarana on the left for about 20 km to Palugaswewa and from there on Padikaramaduwa road for 8 km to Namalpura and from Namalpura to Siyambaladamana village. Travel about 1 km through paddy and slash-and-burn cultivations into the jungles to reach this isolated site.

The Megalithic Burial Site is located isolated deep inside the thick jungle teaming with wild animals. Since Yan Oya flows close to this area,, it can be concluded that a pre-historic settlement in the Yang Oya valley may have been located near this place.

This burial site is well preserved due to its location which has not yet been affected by natural and human activities. There are about 16 burial chambers located in an area of about 03 acres.
