Ambalanpotha Ambalama – අම්බලන්පොත අම්බලම
Ruins of a unique Ambalama lies in Ambalanpotha in the Monaragala District in the Ambalanpotha area. Built in a elephant infested forests long time ago, this Ambalama is built on a 8 foot high brick platform to protect the vary travelers from elephant attacks in the night.
Unfortunately the Ambalama is now in ruins with only the 8 foot platform and the staircase to the top remaining.
Ambalanpotha Ambalama can be reached by taking the Pelawatta – Passara road for about 6.5 km and turning right and traveling a further 1.5 km on this road.
