The Ambalama ( away side rest of ancient times) at Galle Fort lies at the far end of the fort in the open space known as the Courthouse Square. This is a simple brick and mortar structure with with four cylindrical pillars holding the roof. This building has been renovated in 2008.
The ambalama itself is built on a raised platform but does not have any side walls common among the other brick and mortar ambalamas found elsewhere.
