Ganangamuwa Sri Purvaramaya Purana Viharaya lies in the village of Ganangamuwa just 11 km away from Kuliyapitiya. The temple can be reached through Kuliyapitiya – Narammala road road by traveling upto Ganangamuwa (10km) and taking the Konduruwapola road. Another 1 km down this road will bring you to the entrance of the Sri Purvaramaya Purana Viharaya.

A Tampita Viharaya is a structure built on a wooden platform which rests on a number of stone stumps usually 3-4 feet tall. The roof is held by a structure built of timber and the walls are generally made of wattle and daub. The walls inside the chamber is more or less always covered in paintings drawn mainly in Kandyan style.

The Tampita Image house (Image house built on stone piles) belonging to the Ganagamuwa Poorvarama Viharaya Premises situated in the No. 1139 Ganagamuwa Grama Niladhari Division in the Kuliyapitiya East Divisional Secretary’s Division, Kurunegala District, North Western Province is a considerably small structure standing on six granite stumps. It was built during the Kandyan era and was declared as a protected archaeological monument by the gazette issued on 24th July 2009.
