Godamuune Ella (Godamumma Ella) lies in the village of Godamunna, while lies about 13 km from Kandy. Godamunne is better known for its Godamunne Ambalama, The wayside rest built during the Kandyan Kingdom.
Travelling from Kandy, About 500 meters passing the Wooden Ambalama, you will come across Godamunna Oya crossing the road. Godamunna Oya travels over the Kirimatiya hills, passes Godamunna and falls on the Mahaweli River at Kiwul Linda area.
This stream slides over a rocky slope of about 30 degrees and during the rainy season (July – November) turns in to a eye catching 60 meter high waterfall falling in 3 segments.
The ancient Gal Ambalama of Godamunna also lies close this fall.
