Kudalu Dola Ella is rather unknown to the outside other than to the villagers in the immediate vicinity of the falls. The water falls at a angle in a number of steps creating an ideal bathing condition during the dry season when the flow is slow. This waterfall originates from the Kudalu Dola stream and the full height of the fall is 10 -12 meters.
The waterfall is situated near Pitabeddara town in the Matara district (in the Pitabeddara Divisional Secretariat). If approaching from Morawaka town, head towards Akuressa and turn left from the Pitabeddara toward the Akuressa – Pasgoda road. Travel on this road for about 3 km and turn right at the Paragasthenna junction to Gombaddala Road. The waterfall lies about 1.2 km down this road.
The fall is not visible to the road and no known path exists. Therefore you will need to get directions from a villager on the path to the waterfall.
