Kumari Ella

According to local folklore, Kumari Ella derives its name from Princess Kumari, the daughter of King Sitawaka Rajasinhe, who is believed to have drowned in its waters. The waterfall is relatively small in scale, with a height of approximately 4 meters (13 feet).

The waterfall is formed through the confluence of several streams. Two streams originating from Pittukande Mountain and Dukkalahelena Mountain merge with additional streams flowing from Hewainna and Illukovil. These waters meet at Puwakpitiya Aman Oya, which subsequently flows into the Kelani River at Ambangama.
