Makura Ambalama in Kegalle is unique from all the ambalam in the country since this is built on a granite slab laid across a water canal.
The ambalama is located between Hettimulla and Deewala in Kegalle District. From the Kegalle Town take the A21 road which connects Kegalle to Karawanella. Travelling 5.6 km on this road will bring you to Hettimulla. Take the road towards Deewala from Hettimulla. The Makura Ambalama lies on the first large paddy field you come across this road.
Close to this Ambalama is a Ura Kote well called the ‘Divule Linda’ since there had been a wood apple tree next to it.
