Medabedda Sri Bodhimalu Purana Viharaya is a Buddhist temple in Medabedda, Matale with ruins of an ancient Tampita Viharaya built during the Kandyan Kingdom. The temple lies off 7 km off Galewela town. Take the Palapathwela road from Galewela and travel 5 km to reach the Medabedda and take the Debewa road. Travel 2 km on this route to reach the temple.
A Tampita Viharaya is a structure built on a wooden platform which rests on number of stone stumps usually 3-4 feet tall. The roof is held by a structure built of timber and the walls are generally made of wattle and daub.
Only ruins remain of the Tampita Viharaya at this temple.
