This archaeological site, featuring ancient ruins, is located in the Neelapola village (217/B Grama Seva Division) within the Serunuwara Divisional Secretariat.

To reach the site, turn left from the Kallaru junction on the Kantale-Serunuwara road onto the Dehiwatta-Neelapola road. Continue on this road to Neelapola, then turn right at Bogas junction. After traveling about 750 meters along this road, you will see a Pattini Kovil on your left and the temple ruins on your right.

Currently, the local Tamil community has constructed a Kovil, including a Pattini Devalaya, at this location. Construction of this Kovil began around 10 years ago, notably utilizing salvaged stone pillars from the ancient ruins, particularly for the door frames. Access to the Kovil building is made via a large flower altar.

The ancient ruins are scattered over approximately 3/4 of an acre of land in front of the Kovil building, an area that also includes banana cultivation. Within this site, an old well is located to the southeast. Its banks are built with very old bricks, and local belief holds that its water never dries up. To the south of this well, within the adjoining paddy field, lies the foundation and a base stone of a building that was originally constructed using stone slabs. The ground is also widely scattered with fragments of ancient clay pots.

The stone pillars found at the site and reused in the Kovil are notably large and have notches cut into their tops, designed to hold beams. Their size suggests they were likely intended for constructing a multi-story building. Based on the simple style of the stone work and other structural features, it is inferred that this ancient site dates back to the early Anuradhapura period.

The site has now been officially recognized and declared an archaeological monument.
