This 6m Rathninda (Rathkinda) Ella Fall is created by the Rathninda (Rathkinda) Canal, which is formed in turn by the waters of the Eastern or Kirimetiya Mountain (1175m). In dry spells only a trickle of water is visible. However, rain brings a torrent. The fall flows onwards to the Telgamuwa Oya (river).
The fall is situated in the Matale District, in the Laggala Provincial Division’s Pittawala Grama Sevaka area, 3km from Knuckles Forest. The nearest town is Laggala.
This cascade falls in about 7 segments falling at different angles. This waterfall can be reached from the Hotel below ( see map). Take the footpath which goes around this hotel which will lead to the waterfall.
