The 4 meter high Rathu Palama Ella is not exactly a waterfall but a water flow over a slanted slabs of rock. This small but a beautiful waterfall is created by the Hangamu Oya in the remote village of Colombagama. The waterfall is so called due its close proximity to a old and dilapidated steel bridge painted in red with wooden planks laid across Hangamu Oya on a disused road.
The bridge can be reached from Kolombagama in Nivithigala. From Nivithigala you need to walk across a government run rubber estate for about 1.5-2 km to reach the bridge. The waterfall lies about 200 meters above the bridge and you need to walk across a tall mana field to reach the fall.
This waterfall is not in the LCWF list of waterfalls.
