Sengamuwa Pansalgoda Archaeological Site – ලාහුගල සෙන්ගමුව පන්සල්ගොඩ පුරාවිද්යා භූමිය
Sengamuwa is a small village you will find on the road to Pottuvil passing the Lahugala Kotavehera. Some ancient stone pillars with ruins of buildings inside the Sengamuwa Army Camp has been declared as a protected archaeological site by the Government with the Gazette issued on 10th October 2014, and describes the location as follows;
“Site of ruins with stone pillars and buildings, located at the premises of Sengamuwa Army Camp, belonging to Sengamuwa village in Pansalgoda Grama Niladari Division in the Divisional Secretary’s Division, Lahugala in Ampara District in Eastern Province. (latitude 06º 88438′ N and longitude 081º 76309′ E).”
