On the Kanthale–Serunuwara road, about 1.5 km down the side road near Sirimangalapura Gamini Vidyalaya, there is a route known as Mukku Bunt. From this point, heading west into the forest and traveling approximately 1.5 km along a narrow forest path leads to an ancient archaeological site. This site lies within the 217/G, Sirimangalapura Grama Niladhari Division under the Seruwawila Divisional Secretariat and is located within the Mavil Aru Reservoir reserve.

The site contains the ruins of a large stupa, now visible as a slightly elevated mound that has been partially destroyed due to illicit excavations by treasure hunters. While the stupa’s exact dimensions are difficult to determine, a deep pit approximately 2.5 meters in depth has been dug into its center, exposing the original brick layers used in construction.

Surrounding the stupa, several upright stone pillars still remain in their original positions, indicating the presence of at least two separate ancient buildings. In addition to these structures, the area is scattered with other archaeological remnants, including foundation stones, stone slabs, large fragments of clay pots, and brickwork that appears to be from the stupa itself.

The site is situated under a dense canopy of large trees and is inhabited by various wild animals. Today, this location is officially recognized and protected as an archaeological monument.
