Fed by dual streams within the Gartmore Estate, this stunning waterfall cascades directly into the Maskeliya Reservoir. Often confused with the nearby Moray Falls, this site is a centerpiece of the Sri Pada wilderness, offering breathtaking views of the sacred mountain peak amidst a lush, high-altitude tea plantation landscape.
This waterfall is widely known as Sri Pada Falls due to its close proximity to the sacred mountain of Sri Pada. As it is situated within the Gartmore Estate, it is also referred to as Gartmore Falls.
Sri Pada Falls descends directly into the Maskeliya Reservoir and is formed by two streams that converge just above the main drop. Each of these streams creates its own পৃথfall before merging, and both are located within the Gartmore Estate. Collectively, these are known as the Gartmore Estate Waterfalls.
A separate waterfall of approximately the same height is located a few hundred meters away from Sri Pada Falls and also feeds into the Maskeliya Reservoir. This waterfall is known as Moray Falls. Owing to the close proximity of these two waterfalls, their names are sometimes confused, with Moray Falls occasionally being misidentified as Sri Pada Falls.
The Lanka Council on Waterfalls records Adams Peak Falls (Sri Pada Falls) as a waterfall measuring 10 meters (approximately 33 feet) in height, located within the Kandy District. This classification is likely erroneous or may refer to an entirely different waterfall. Such inconsistencies are common in regions with a high density of waterfalls, where variations in local naming practices often lead to confusion.
