The Mulathivu Wediwettukallu area is situated approximately 35 kilometres from Vavuniya and around 25 kilometres from Padaviya. Accessible via roads traversing remote villages, gravel pathways, and dense forests, both routes offer a journey through rugged terrain and natural landscapes.

Hidden within the forest along the Wediwettukallu and Welioya road lies a significant ancient Amuna (Anicut), spanning across a tributary of Kikul Oya. This Amuna stands approximately 1.5 meters high from the ground level, stretching 40 meters in length and 8 meters in width. Evidence suggests that it may have served as a bridge at some point, as brick construction is observed atop the stone blocks. Additionally, a pillar base cavity is found at the site. This Amuna has not been documented in any archaeological or historical records before.

To reach this site from Vavuniya, one must travel approximately 35 kilometres via Atambagaskada and Mamaduwa. Alternatively, if travelling from Padaviya, proceed to Welioya. After crossing the bridge over Ma Oya in Welioya, turn towards Nedunkeni. From there, continue for about 9 kilometres along a gravel road leading to Wediwettukallu in the direction of the 623rd Force Headquarters.
