Dodawatta Minimaru Ella Falls is a little known beautiful waterfall lying inside a tea estate in the Dodawatte area on the Noori Road from coming from Deraniyagala.

The waterfall can be reached by travelling along the Noori Road from Deraniyagala. Deraniyagala – Noori Road is dotted with many waterfalls, Some known and many unnamed and unknown. The Dodawatta Minimaru Ella Fall is one waterfall well away from the main road.

The fall was also for notoriety due to a murder by drowning at this waterfall, This is not a well-known waterfall and it is not listed in the LCWF database

This waterfall is also called Dodawatta Falls by some.

Travel Directions to Dodawatta Ella Falls / Minimaru Ella Falls

Take the Noori Road from Deraniyagala and travel about 14 km to reach the village of Dodawatte. Stop near the Budumakola Ella at the bridge and walk about ½ km upstream through tea plantations to reach the falls. Another way is to come to Deraniyagala Town and then take a bus from Pallebage.
