Many are familiar with the renowned Godamunna Ambalama adorned with intricate wood carvings. However, located approximately 500 meters away lies another Ambalama lesser-known to many. Dubbed Godamunna Gal Ambalama, this structure is crafted from stone. Positioned atop a cliff near a picturesque waterfall, it is also referred to as Godamunna Ella Oya Ambalama.

On a small stone platform perched on the cliff, four stone pillars with a circumference of approximately 4 feet have been erected. A wooden frame rests atop these pillars, supporting the roof. The stone pillars are square at two corners and have been fashioned into an octagonal shape at the centre. Apart from this architectural feature, there are no other carvings or embellishments visible in this area.

The walls of this Ambalama have been constructed as ledges for seating purposes. Adjacent to the entrance, the walls are shorter than the two sides, a feature commonly observed in Ambalams from the Kandy era. The provision of seating at varying heights is a distinctive characteristic found in many Ambalams of this period. The seating arrangement would have varied based on the status of the individual, reflecting the hierarchical social structure prevalent during that time.

This Ambalama was constructed in 1930 by a Ranthan Gedera school teacher. Villagers recall that prior to 1930, there existed an Ambalama made of wood, resembling the architecture of the renowned Godamunna Ambalama.
