These ruins are located in the village of Kachchilamadu in the Oddusuddan Divisional Secretariat Division of the Mullaitivu District. Travelling approximately 2 kilometres on the Oddusuddan-Pudukuduirippu road, you will reach the Kachchilamadu junction. From there, turning right and travelling about 600 meters on the gravel road, you will find these isolated ruins without any signposts.

The Department of Archeology believes that many of the ancient stone pillars present here were brought here from other places and placed here. Perhaps the remains of ancient buildings of other closeby places were brought to this place when the land was cleared for paddy fields.

Among the antiquities found at the site are a moonstone, the Siri Pathul gala (scared footprint of Buddha), a large stone flower alter, a guard stone and a stone slab with Ashtamangala markings, which appear to have been brought from outside the site in addition to the stone pillars. Therefore according to the Archaeology Department, it is difficult to conclude what existed in this place in the ancient past.

According to earlier archaeological reports, this is an archaeological site with a body part of a Buddha statue, bricks and steps. This location is marked on the Google map below as per the placement on the Archeology Department GIS map.
