The Post Office Road from Medirigiriya ends at the Kaudulla Wewa reservoir. Two kilometers down this road a bridge crosses a feeder canal to the Kaudulu Oya. Traveling on a narrow gravel road for 200 meters just before the bridge will bring you to the ruins of Kattakulama Ancient Amuna.
Kattakulama stone sluice in Thissapura Yaya 01 village (80 08′ 38.5” N and 800 56′ 48.9” E) belonging to Grama Niladhari Division No. 114, Thissapura in the Divisional Secretary’s Division, Medirigiriya in Polonnaruwa District in North Central Province was declared as a protected archaeology site on 20th March 2017.
