Katupelellegala Ancient Buddhist Ruins – සියඹලාණ්ඩුව කටුපැලැලේගල බෞද්ධ නටබුන්

The ruins at the top of Katupelellegala Rock in the Digal Hela area is another unexplored and unknown ancient Buddhist site in Siyambalanduwa.
The buildings and structured once stood at the top of this rock have totally disappeared leaving only few clues of the ancient glory of this site.
The site is rather unappreciated by the locals thus unknown to may including the villagers living around the area.
To reach the Katupelellegala ruins you would need to take the Ampara Road from Siyambalanduwa and travel up to the 7th km post and turn to right at the new court complex of Siyambalanduwa which also leads to the Degalhela Temple. The Katupelellegala rock lies in middle of chenas and will need help of a villager nearby to locate it.
