Padiyadora Rajamaha Viharaya – පදියදොර ඓතිහාසික පුරාණ රජමහා විහාරය

Padiyadora Rajamaha Viharaya is ancient buddhist temple lying in Padiyatalawa on the main Mahaoya Road. It is believed that the Bodhi Tree is one of the first 32 samplings of the Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura which dates the temple to the 2nd century BC.
The Bodhi Tree is highly venerated by the Buddhists in the area. Close to the tree is ruins of an ancient stupa visible only as a mound of earth. This stupa and other ruins scattered around has been designated as protected archaeological monuments by the Department of Archaeology.
