Perched on a scenic bend along the Bulathkohupitiya–Dolosbage Road, the Palampitiya Viewpoint unveils breathtaking vistas of misty valleys, rolling hills, and tea-clad slopes. Just 7.5 kilometers from Dedugala, this tranquil, lesser-known lookout invites travelers to pause and embrace Sri Lanka’s untouched natural beauty.
The Palampitiya Viewpoint is a newly developed scenic observation point located along the Bulathkohupitiya–Dolosbage Road in Sri Lanka. It provides breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, featuring rolling hills, lush greenery, and distant mountain ranges.
The Bulathkohupitiya–Dolosbage Road is among the most picturesque routes in the country, adorned with numerous waterfalls along its stretch. The recently improved Palampitiya Viewpoint is positioned on a hairpin bend, approximately 7.5 kilometers from Dedugala.
Although the vantage point had existed for some time, it was recently upgraded with an extended viewing platform and parking spaces to enhance accessibility for visitors.
This viewpoint offers sweeping vistas of valleys, tea plantations, and distant mist-covered peaks. Largely untouched by mainstream tourism, it is an ideal retreat for visitors seeking serenity, unspoilt natural beauty, and a peaceful escape from the crowds.

Unfortunately, earthslips triggered by Cyclone Ditwah in November 2025 washed away several sections of the road. Reconstruction work is expected to be completed within a few months.
