Sudugala Ella Falls is also known as Heightenford Falls and Galpoththa Ella Falls. The width of the waterfall exceeds 60 meters and the water slides over over a slanting rock bed. Although this fall is does not stand out in terms of height, the length of the waterfall is over 50 meters.
The fall is called Heightenford Falls since this fall lies few meters away from Heightenford railway platform at the railway line. The falls end with a shallow pool which is about 2 feet deep. This is a popular recreational location for the children living nearby who slide down this rock until they fall in to the pool at the bottom. This activity is possible only when the water levels are low.
The waterfall is located on the Samanalagama Road in Nawalapitiya area close to the Heightenford railway platform.
