“Bubula” at Wilpita is a natural water spring lying close to the Wilpita Lake. This Bubula lies in the hamlet of Galagawadeniya bordering the Wilpita Oliyagankele Forest Reserve on the Kamburupitiya – Akuressa road.
The Bubula consists of 2 overflowing wells and this underground natural spring flows during even on the dryest seasons and the water from this spring is used to feet 370 acres of paddy lands around this spring. The water of this spring also feeds Wilpita natural lake.
The Wilpita Bubula has existed for generations and in 1970’s two concrete rings have been fixed and later a protective wall. The marker on the google map below points to a approximate area only.
